Join Us for the 2024 Harvest Hammer Race Day: A Day of Fun, Fitness, and Community!

As proud sponsors of the Harvest Hammer Race, we are thrilled to invite you to an exciting day filled with races for all ages and abilities. Here’s all the information you need to make the most of this fantastic event.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, September 24, 2024
Location: Morrison High School, 643 Genesee St., Morrison, IL. 
**Note for GPS users: Please use “Academic Drive” as Genesee St will be blocked off. Park on Academic Drive and behind Southside School on the playground.

Schedule

  • 7:00 a.m.: Registration opens for shirt/bib/chip pick-up. Remember, there will be NO EARLY PACKET PICKUP this year.
  • 8:15 a.m.: Children’s Races begin with the 1/3 Mile Wee Run for Pre-K – 2nd grade.
  • 8:30 a.m.: 
    • 1/2 Mile Fun Run for 2nd – 5th grade.
    • 1 Mile Challenge Run for 5th – 8th grade.

Children’s Races

Participants in the children’s races will receive a Harvest Hammer T-shirt and a blue participation ribbon. Awards will be given to the top boy and girl in each race.

Adult Races

9:00 a.m.: 5K Run/Duathlon

  • The 5K run is an out-and-back course starting and ending at Morrison High School.
  • The Duathlon includes a 3.1-mile run followed by a 21-mile bike ride through the picturesque and hilly countryside of Morrison.
  • Participants must be 14 years or older and wear an ANSI helmet.
  • Awards will be given overall, and three deep awards will be given by age group.

Color Run

11:30 a.m.: The Color Run, open to all ages, begins at Morrison High School. 

  • Free for all Hammer participants, or $15 for non-Hammer participants (includes a Hammer T-shirt).
  • Enjoy a fun 6/10th mile run with colored powder tossed or thrown at you along the way. No prizes, just a lot of fun!

Race Courses

5K Course: The race features a mostly flat course with a small and medium hill before the turnaround, making the second half fast and downhill.

Duathlon Bike Course: A challenging two-lap course with rolling hills, starting and ending at Morrison High School.
