At Kunes Auto Group of Morrison, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve, and this September we’re proud to once again support one of Morrison’s most anticipated annual traditions: the Harvest Hammer 5K & Duathlon. Event Overview
The 2025 Harvest Hammer takes place on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at Morrison High School (643 Genesee Ave, Morrison, IL). Known for being one of Northwest Illinois’ most cherished community races, the event offers something for everyone—from serious runners and cyclists to families with young children.
This year’s schedule includes:
- 8:00 AM – 5K Run / 21-Mile Bike Ride Duathlon
- 10:00 AM – Wee Run (2nd Grade & Under)
- 10:15 AM – Fun Run (3rd – 5th Grade)
- 10:15 AM – Challenge Run (5th – 8th Grade)
- 11:00 AM – Color Run
Important Note: Race organizers have listened to participant feedback and made changes to start times. The 5K now begins at 8:00 AM, with kids’ races kicking off at 10:00 AM.
Race Day Information
To ensure a smooth race experience, here are some important details:
Registration:
- Opens race morning at 7:00 AM.
- Closes at 7:45 AM for the 5K and Duathlon.
- Kids’ race registration runs from 7:00 – 9:45 AM.
- There is no early packet pickup this year.
Parking Directions:
- From Rt. 78 South: Navigate around barricades into Morrison via Academic Drive (limited access for participants).
- From Rt. 30 East or West: Take Orange or Heaton Street south to Winfield. Turn left on Winfield, continue to the end, then turn right on Rt. 78 South.
- Go one block to Academic Drive
- Parking is available on Academic Drive and behind Southside School on the playground.
Starting Location: All events begin at Morrison High School. GPS users should enter “Academic Drive” since Genesee Street will be blocked.
